On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, SBE once again participated in the annual 'Car Free Workday' as part of Mobility Week 2024. "We encourage our employees to choose sustainable modes of transportation on this day, such as public transport, cycling, or walking. As a reward, they will receive a delicious and healthy breakfast. Even our CEOs, Jan and Koen Thomas, are leaving their cars at home that day!"

Rijkswaterstaat en zes ingenieurs- en adviesbureaus hebben op 22 augustus 2024 het Convenant Bureau Herberekeningen bruggen & viaducten ondertekend. Binnen dit bureau werken Rijkswaterstaat, de zes ingenieurs- en adviesbureaus en kennisinstituten (o.a. TNO) gelijkwaardig samen aan het herrekenen van de duurzaamheid van 50 vaste stalen bruggen, 40 beweegbare bruggen en 240 betonnen bruggen of viaducten.

At the end of April, King George Café announced that after 8 successful years, it would permanently close its doors and look for a new owner. The takeover has now been completed. With pride, King George Café and SBE announce today that, as of September 1st, the café will be taken over by engineering consultancy SBE. The Sint-Niklaas-based company will exclusively open the café for its 250 employees.

At SBE, we are committed to one of the most pressing issues in today's society, a topic that concerns and affects each of us: the environment and sustainability. Every year, we evaluate our efforts for the climate, specifically focusing on reducing our CO2 emissions. We do this through the CO2 Performance Ladder, for which we are currently at level three. With our CO2 management system, we track our emissions and implement various measures to achieve our reduction goals.

We are very pleased to announce that SBE has again been nominated as a Trends Gazelle East Flanders 2024, this time in the category of 'large companies'.

For more than 30 years, SBE has consistently embraced innovation to deliver exceptional projects. We reached the latest milestone in our digital transformation journey: A Common Data Environment (CDE) for all projects established with the help of Autodesk Construction Cloud. 

For the sixth consecutive year, SBE proudly receives the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship, a certificate related to sustainable development goals and corporate social responsibility.
