Yesterday we were proud to receive the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship for the sixth consecutive year. Congratulations to all the other laureates and thank you to the Voka – Kamer Antwerpen Waasland for this fantastic recognition. We are delighted with this award, and we view it as motivation to continue on our sustainability path.
This certificate is therefore the icing on the cake of a year full of sustainability efforts, which included:
- Installing 450 solar panels to generate renewable energy
- Achieving the Sporting Company label from Sport Vlaanderen
- A Dripl vending machine in our Sint-Niklaas office for filtered tap water and packaging-free and healthier soft drinks
- ….
Because we at #teamsbe also like to look ahead, we want to work on sustainability again in 2024. Because of the great ideas of #teamsbe, our new action plan is already on the table. We will therefore focus on reducing the impact of our core activities in 2024.

Car Free Workday @ SBE and the grand opening of the one and only SBE Café
17/09/2024On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, SBE once again participated in the annual 'Car Free Workday' as part of Mobility Week 2024. "We encourage our employees to choose sustainable modes of transportation on this day, such as public transport, cycling, or walking. As a reward, they will receive a delicious and healthy breakfast. Even our CEOs, Jan and Koen Thomas, are leaving their cars at home that day!" -

Covenant for the Bureau of Structural Recalculations: Signing Marks a Remarkable Collaboration
27/08/2024Rijkswaterstaat en zes ingenieurs- en adviesbureaus hebben op 22 augustus 2024 het Convenant Bureau Herberekeningen bruggen & viaducten ondertekend. Binnen dit bureau werken Rijkswaterstaat, de zes ingenieurs- en adviesbureaus en kennisinstituten (o.a. TNO) gelijkwaardig samen aan het herrekenen van de duurzaamheid van 50 vaste stalen bruggen, 40 beweegbare bruggen en 240 betonnen bruggen of viaducten.
